Change broker configs

Set a config on one broker or as the default for every broker, without a restart.

The Configuration tab of a broker needs the broker_configs privilege. Changes need alter_broker_configs on a cluster with writable: true.

  1. On Brokers, open a broker and select the Configuration tab.
  2. Select the row of the config. Rows with a lock icon are read-only.
  3. Enter the Value.
  4. In Applies to, pick Broker N to set the value on this broker, or Every broker to set the cluster default.
  5. Select Save.

Kafka applies the new value without a restart. A broker that sets its own value keeps it when you change the cluster default.

To return to the cluster default, open the row and select Remove override. To remove the cluster default, select Remove default.
